# How We Write Our Guides

Every article and guide on this site is written for people in the middle of a Singapore PR or citizenship application. This page explains who writes them, how we research them and how we keep them accurate.

## Who Writes Them

Every article and guide is written by one of our consultants, named at the top of the page with a link to their profile. Each consultant writes about the cases they handle day to day: our guides on appeals come from the consultant who prepares appeals, and our work pass guides from the consultant who works with Employment Pass and S Pass holders.

## Built on Our Case Work

Our consultants have reviewed more than 6,500 applicant profiles. That work shows us where applications tend to go wrong, such as a career history that reads differently across the CV, the employer letter and the CPF statement, or an appeal that repeats the original application instead of showing what has changed.

ICA does not give reasons when it rejects an application, so these patterns come from our own cases. They decide what each guide covers and what it tells you to check before you submit.

## Where the Facts Come From

We take rules, fees, salary thresholds and application steps from the government bodies that set them: the Immigration & Checkpoints Authority (ICA), the Ministry of Manpower (MOM), the Ministry of Home Affairs (MHA), IRAS, HDB and the CPF Board. When a policy changes, we work from the announcement itself, whether that is the ministry’s statement or the reply given in Parliament.

When ICA does not publish a figure, such as an overall PR approval rate, our guides say so rather than fill the gap with an estimate.

## How Each Guide Is Checked

Before a guide is published, every figure in it is checked against its source and every link is checked to make sure it leads where it says. Figures that change, such as salary thresholds and government fees, are checked again whenever the guide is updated.

We also compare each guide with what is already published on the topic, and publish it only when it gives a reader something they cannot easily find elsewhere.

## Keeping Them Current

When a rule changes, we update the article and the date at the top of the page changes with it. We do not change the date on an article whose content has not changed, so the date tells you when the content was last revised.

## What Our Guides Cannot Do

Our guides are general information, not legal advice, and they cannot tell you how ICA will decide your application. ICA assesses every application on its own merits and does not publish how it weighs the factors it considers.

Singapore Top Immigration is a private consultancy and is not affiliated with ICA or any Singapore government agency.

## Spotted an Error?

Email info@singaporetopimmigration.sg with the page address and what looks wrong. A consultant will check it against the source and correct the article if it needs it.
